Transparency of Oil and Gas Corporation Beneficiaries Starting in 2020 “Deputy of Menko Statement”

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia – The government is demanding oil and gas (mineral and gas) and mineral and coal (mineral) corporations to open information about beneficial owners of corporations (BO) for extractive industries in Indonesia in 2020.

Previously, the openness of the oil and gas and mineral oil sector BO was a condition to meet the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) Standard where Indonesia was one of the implementing countries of EITI along with 50 other countries.

“In accordance with the EITI Standard, by 2020, all implementing countries of EITI, including Indonesia, must be able to open data on the names, citizenship and domicile of beneficial owners or BO from extractive industry corporations,” said Deputy Coordination for Energy, Natural Resources and Environment , Montty Girianna’s Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs in an official statement, quoted on Wednesday (25/4).
