Merdeka.com – The government launched the annual Transparency Initiative in Extractive Industries (EITI) report. This launch was an attempt by the government to uphold the principle of transparency in the oil and gas and mineral and coal sectors.

The launch of the 4th report (2014 reporting year) on state revenues from the two sectors supporting the national economy was carried out in the Graha Sawala Room, the Complex of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Banteng Field, Jakarta.

“With the issuance of the EITI Report, it is expected to support the transparency of state revenues paid by companies so as to prevent tax synchronization. In addition, this report also encourages discussion about improving policies and increasing stakeholder confidence,” said Secretary of the Minister Lukita D. Tuwo who opened the launch of this report.

This report is in line with the ideals of article 33 of the 1945 Constitution, article two, which emphasizes that the earth, water and natural resources contained therein are controlled by the state and used as much as possible for the prosperity of the people.
